Codex CLI runs tasks in a terminal. MCP gives it typed tools — files, databases, web — instead of pasting raw CLI dumps.
Open the MCP config path from Codex docs (often a user-level JSON file). Merge command/args from a detail page here. Keep the name short English.
Put secrets in environment variables, not in a file that may be committed. Reload Codex and try a read-only call first.
