MCP is a protocol for connecting tools to an AI client. Cursor starts a server from command and args in JSON.
Open Cursor Settings → MCP, or edit user/project mcp.json. Add a server, use a lowercase name, and paste command/args from an MCP detail page on this site.
Replace sample paths and secrets. Only allow directories you intend. Save and confirm Cursor shows the server as connected.
Then pick a filesystem or version-control entry from the MCP directory to verify a real task.
